In 1998, Etiuda and Anima Festival planned a retrospective of Borowczyk’s films.

Unfortunately, because of the condition of the existing film prints, Borowczyk prevented the screening of many of his short films.

Fifteen years later, the retrospective was completed with a special screening of restored versions of Borowczyk’s French short films, along with Daniel Bird’s interview documentary, Obscure Pleasures: A Portrait of Walerian Borowczyk.
